It’s June already!  How’d that happen?

New on the website this week:

From the social media neighborhood:

  • Laura was busy this week: first with a guest post on Hack Library School about how this here project began as a student independent study, and second by participating in the “Show Me the Awesome” multi-blog series with her creative outreach efforts for summer.
  • Check it out!  USC Libraries is a partner on a new web series, L.A. as Subject!
  • We asked our followers on Twitter if they knew any mobile makerspaces, and came up up three awesome examples:  DHMakerBus out of London, Ontario,  Future Makers in the Washington D.C. area, and the Maker Mobile in Vancouver.  Thanks to everyone for submitting these amazing maker initiatives!!!
  • A shocking new infographic on the importance of summer reading programs at the library: Kids Who Read Beat Summer Slide.  Shoutout to all our wonderfully passionate Facebook followers for sharing it!

Fun stuff from around the web:

The start of June means that we’re only weeks away from ALA Annual in Chicago!!  The Library as Incubator Project will be there, talking on panels, going to workshops, and wandering the exhibition floor.  And we want to connect with YOU!  Let us know you’ll be there over e-mail or Twitter!  We’ll have SWAG, as well as a few other surprises.  Can’t wait! ~Katie
