Library Program KitLooking for a great Summer Reading Program idea gives kids a chance to not only learn about art, but also gain a new skill and share their work?

Have we got resources for you!

We’re delighted to host this programming kit by Jessica Flores, the multi-talented Nappanee Communications Specialist who is also a professional artist working in watercolor and mixed media (You can check out Jessica’s work on her Flickr stream, and you can also check out her blog.)

Jessica designed the Knee-high Nappanee program as part of the Nappanee Public Library Fine Arts Series, and was able to create great partnerships with local artists and local businesses along the way.

This program does take a few months to plan, especially if you have to establish a relationship with a photographer or local business that can donate photo processing, but the end result is SO worth it (and those connections can reap returns for future collaborations!)– just check out the wonderful gallery below for a kid’s eye view of summer and get ready to CREATE!
