The ALA Annual Conference this year is in Anaheim, California, and the Library as Incubator Project will be there! I love the theme:
Transforming our libraries, ourselves.
It embodies so much of what we do here at the Library as Incubator Project as we re-think how libraries contribute to the cultural education of their communities and how library spaces can be used for the greater purpose of sharing knowledge and information.
In sum, it’s all about partnerships, and if you’re planning to be in Anaheim this year, I want to meet you! Here’s my sting-operation schedule and a sneak peek at some of the highlights you can look forward to if you visit out booth:
- ARRIVAL: Friday, June 22
- BOOTH: I’ll be sharing a booth with UW-Madison SLIS (stay tuned for the booth number!)
- TWITTER: I’ll be tweeting @erinnbatykefer throughout the Conference with the #ALA12 hashtag. Feel free to tweet at me if you want to find out where I am to meet up!
- CONTEST: We want to meet you and learn more about how your library incubates the arts in your community. Stop by our booth and enter your business card with a quick description of your #libraryasincubator initiative in a drawing for the chance to win great Library as Incubator Project swag!
- DEPARTURE: Monday, June 25
Are you going to Anaheim? I’d love your suggestions about what panels to see and what to do while I’m there! Share your suggestions in the comments below, or tweet @IArtLibraries or @erinnbatykefer to schedule a meeting during the conference.
See you in 22 days!
