PRIMARY SOURCES: A POETRY WORKSHOP or, HOW TO STEAL YOUR NEXT GREAT IDEA FROM THE LIBRARY STACKS was contributed to the Library as Incubator Project by poet Rita Mae Reese.  Rita Mae, who often employs primary sources in her award-winning work,  is available to run this workshop at libraries in and around Madison, Wisconsin as a visiting author.  Her template is free to share.

The library is one of the surest cures for writer’s block ever created. What better way to begin finding inspiration, or to learn writing techniques than by reading and responding to great (and even not-so-great) literature?

This poetry workshop is meant to be done in a library so that participants can see exactly how useful a library can be for their creative work, and can be done as a single workshop or expand to a series of workshops.
